Montgomery Montessori Institute (MMI) was founded in 1994 for individuals interested in becoming certified Early Childhood or Infant Toddler Montessori educators. MMI is accredited by MACTE (Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education) and approved as a private career school by the Maryland Higher Education Commission.
Anchored in the teaching philosophy and methodology formulated by Dr. Maria Montessori, MMI’s programs focus on the developmental needs of the child within a context of freedom and structure.

Early Childhood Credential – Course Director: Pamela W. Trumble
MMI’s two-phased Early Childhood Program consists of an Academic Phase which begins in early June and continues for eight consecutive weeks to early August with classes held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and a Practicum Phase from September to June.
Infant & Toddler Credential – Course Director: Aline Feledy
MMI’s two-phased Infant-Toddler Program consists of an Academic Phase which begins in early June and continues for 5 consecutive weeks through mid-July with classes held from 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. and a Practicum Phase from September to June..
Both programs are comprised of student-teaching and workshops providing internship opportunities in the classroom of an approved supervising teacher.
